Automatic loading thinggummy.....

Postby trojan rabbit » Fri Jun 01, 2007 7:00 pm

I downloaded the Fs2004 Mirage EC by Roland Laborie, Jean Pierre Bourgeois and Pierre Marchadier  and wanted to install it into FSX.  normally I can install just fine, but this has one of thos 'automatic loading thinggummy' 's on it, and I was wondering if any of you know how to go past the installer to get the files themselves... Or if you just know the right name of what i'm talking about  ;D (WinZip???)

Thanks for any help

As an aside  - for "self installing models, I have created an "Aircraft"  folder off the main FS-X folder, as in FS2004.  That way the installers go direct, etc.

You do have to add a line to the FSX.cfg file, and once done, FS-X will recognize models both in the "Aircraft"  and SimObjects\Airplanes, and etc. folders.

Could you post the line you use please?  I wish to use the normal folder and the new Aircraft folder as I`m shoehorning the 747-200 Ready For Pushback into two places it was never devised for, (a) Vista 32 bit and (b) FSX.  Got it working so far, except the fuel keeps depleting before or as I take off.  Fuel dump is definately turned off.  This aircraft is originally installed in the Aircraft folder as it would be in FS2004 but I moved it to SimObjects\Airplanes.  I have commented out the RT_INS and RT_742_SPOT_TAPE in the panel.cfg as these are Flight Sim 98 components and not compatible.  I think I`ve downloaded a suitable replacement for the RT_INS, located the three problem guages for the spot_tape and will find alternatives for them too.
