Real Time

Postby barrymb » Thu May 31, 2007 6:57 pm

Hi,
In FS isn't the "time" suspose to work off the computers clock? I have to reset the time after each flight. Am I doing something wrong?
        Thanks   Barry

You have to go into the settings and select it to run off system time, sure it does it by default though, turned mine off.

Mine is set to that, although it thinks I am on the west coast, so it applies the time of my east coast system to the west coast in the game.  Mildly annoying, but not terrible.

Ya I've also set mine to system time.  Thought absolutely nothing happens in that respect, funny, a clock that doesn't tell the time!

I've only noticed it gives the date and it can be a timer.  It has a time on it, but it sure as hell isn't 11 in the morning here when I look at my watch that shows 1600.

I have not changed my default flight/time, so I'll start off with the Friday Harbor flight, change to my desired field, usually Sanford-Orlando (KSFB), which then puts it three hours later, because of time zones, than Friday Harbor.  So, the 6:45PM (my computer's local time) becomes 9:45PM in KSFB, when I want it to be 6:54PM in KSFB.

Note, however, that on the time/date selection screen there is the Reset button.  Clicking on that resets the flightsim time to your computer's local time.

At least, that's the little "dance"  I go through.  *MY* personal preference is to always start from a default flight, and then change to a location/aircraft, etc.
