Try getting out of Boeing Field on 34 and flying over the container cranes, the wharfs and past the centre of the city.  And if you claim it is smooth, post your settings, and your autogen numbers.

And tell the truth.

Then understand why we will not play this game well until the next generation of CPUs and GPUs come on the market.  I have become addicted to tweaking rather than flying the sim!

+:
- Autogen
- Mesh
- Roads
- Default aircraft
- Flight dynamics
- Ground textures

-:
- Bloom = frame eater
- Blurry ground textures in the distance
- Scenery compatibility issues (FS9 scenery)
- Gauge confirmation (major PITA)

+the new VC, FS9 felt very unreal these look and feel more "out of the way"
+New autogen and textures
+improved Wx system
+MP improvements such as the Copilot feature.
and many more

Now im running AMD64 3700 San Diego at 2.76 Ghz, 1 GB ram 251 Mhz, BFG7800GTX I run my fsx with 4xs AA, 16x AF, 1280x1024x32 res, Global Texture res=High(sometimes set to very High depending), Lightbloom and advanced anims checked,  LoD Rad= Large, Mesh Complexity=100, Mesh res= 1M, texture res= 1M, Water Low 2.x, land detail textures checked, Scenery Complexity=Normal, AutoGen Density=Normal, Special effects= medium, Cloud Draw = 80 NM, Detailed Clouds coverage= medium, 48% Airline traffic, 28% Gen Aviation, Airport Vehicle= Min, Land And Sea is 4% 3% 15%. My FPS is locked at 20 and for the most part its a smooth ride, sometimes a get the odd stutter but its only maybe once or twice when coming through a big city. I don't see any real stutters till my FPS get below 12 or so. I did do the Boeing Field flight just to see why everyone is having such a hard time and I was fine, I had RealWx and my fps never went below 13.5 at takeoff and flying out over the cranes I had 15.5 FPS. It was all smooth aside from a slight bit of those microstutters sp1 has added. This is with no tweaks to the cfg and addons are FSG Mesh and FSG Landclass.

So the only real big negative I have found thus far is  my system is not capable of loading textures farther out and faster, I don't like the blurries. I just ordered 2 Gigs of some new ram to try and help this out a bit. With this rig no oc I was maxing out FS9 and I will tell you right now my FSX looks better than fs9 maxed so give the game a break its nice to know that this sim can look even better once we catch the HW up to it...

Wow! You guys/girls have brought up a lot of good pros and cons.

I like:
Much better detail.
Default terrain mesh not too bad.
If I stay in the US, Canada and UK - no real problems unless I switch views when I jump in and out of Time Comp. a lot. Then it reboots.

I do NOT like:
Missing Seahawks Stadium (now Qwest Field unfortunately) in Seattle (KBFI)
Slow loading. AMD loads much quicker than P4 did with same drives.
Slow transition from menu to flight - again much quicker now. Sometimes less than a
Fly em- if you got em!
