Winshields and windows - Reflections

Postby asnamara » Sat May 19, 2007 4:25 am

Hello there, I installed SP1 and now the reflections and the windshield and windows are not visible at all (from the outside 3d model, no from the VC).. there is no reflections.. its quite weird, its as if there were no windshields.

does anybody know what this problem might be?

should i post a screen shot?

It was a clean install by the way, reinstalled everything. .so its not something left over from the previous version.

cheers, and thanks in advance.

that problem's been popping up everywhere...

i dont know what the deal is, but i suspect it could be to do with ur graphics card's drivers.  try updating them, then see what you get.

I'm thinking that some of the advanced graphics, especially after SP1 optimization, are beyond an on-board v-card's capability. But that's just a theory.

Thanks, for the replies St1ker. I checked out the post on flighsimworld forum. and yes that is the same problem. I have seen a few posts about the same problem on avsim as well. but still no solution. It works fine on a clean install of FSX though. so i guess i'll try getting SP2 or whatever comes next. It's a pity because reflections worked on 3rd party planes in SP1 and FSX ran smoother on my computer than it ever did before.
Wrote to Microsoft. but they didnt aknowledge my email yet. I dont know how long it takes them to deal with mail. Hope i get something.

unfortunately for u, and many others, there is no schelduled SP2.  i thought it would be better to hav an SP2, even if it did mean pushing back the release of the DX10 patch. :-/

hope u get a reply from MS, altho they're not really the people to talk to. :P

u need to contact Phil Taylor, the man himself, but i dont know his email address, so ull hav to find it urself.

and finally, AnGeL_MaKeR, u saying that ur fine with everything, DOES NOT HELP THE PERSON IN NEED! >:(

if u hav nothing helpful/meaningful to say, then please, do this: :-X
