What FSX should look like on DX10

Postby Black ZR-1 » Tue May 22, 2007 12:20 pm

If this game can pull it off on the 360, imagine what FSX would look like after the DX10 patch:

Wow, very nice. I have my fingers crossed and am looking forward to the DX10 patch. Although, I'm not sure how closely you can compare the XBox to FSX. I would assume that FSX is a lot more demanding on the system as the AI in the game is probably a lot more complex. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though. I know very little about the XBox. Is it as interactive of an enviroment with as many control options?

I don't think FSX can ever be converted for the XBox 360 for one reason: File Size! FSX Deluxe is about roughly 12Gigabytes uncompressed; and the fact that FSX comes in two DVDs just for installation tells me that not everyone is gonna be happy about swapping DVDs in the XBox 360 just when they're about to go into final approache. On top of that, you can imagine the loading time put into uncompressing the files from the DVDs and then loading them once more for playing. FSX is slow enough when it comes to loading the flight on a PC; but on a X360, that's just adding salt to the wound. :-X

So, unless someone in this planet manages to invent a DVD that can hold 12-14 Gigabytes of UNcompressed FSX Deluxe files without having to create a 2-disc package for the X360, I'll just stick with the PC version.

By the way, have any of you noticed that the scenery in Ace Combat 6 [as well as the light blooms] appears to resemble more like FSX scenery? Look at the water, the terrain, the shore lines, etc. Very uncanny if you ask me. Coinsidence? I don't know. ;)

Hey, what's with the edit? I use my own personal FTP and I use my own bandwith. Unless you guys have gigs and gigs of bandwith you don't mind using up, I don't see why I can't host it. But a link's acceptable? The file size and dimensions met your specifications.

Please elaborate...

ZR-1, it's either just a link or an image that's uploaded here.

i wouldn't judge the quality of the game by a couple of pre release screen shots..... they are usually from in game movie sequences or faked. They never really show actuall game play....
