and dont forget.. none of those cards mean squat if you put them in a system with a slow FSB and memory bus, and, top it off with a processor and PSU that will choke them

If you are going to upgrade, do it RIGHT the first time and dont waste your money trying to save a buck

I know. I am upgrading in atleast a year, when I do be assured, it will be an amazing rig.

Ok, now I'm probably getting annoying asking strange questions like what will happen if I pair a 700$ video card with a $50 processor, so I'll just shuddup now.

LOL!!!!

Im tired Arnaage. Its very late here in Seattle and I need some shut-eye

I will look at the 8600 when I get a chance but with that core there is more to it than just the specs you posted

goodnight

Nick: so that's some of the story, you are a Boeing man, even in retirement I suspect.

The 8600GTS is a pile of crap video card in my opinion.

...and not worth the saved money over a 8800GTS.

Btw: Are you running road traffic and default AI?

No and no, I have AI disabled until SP1. Road traffic is awsome and since the game is running so well, I am going to up autogen or enable road traffic....

Hmm... Which one..? Or both?

Oh and happy birthday!!!1 :D

EDIT: I don't notice the cars so I'm keeping them off.

Thanks.

And get some custom AI. 100% of custom is less hard on the frames than 30% of MS. ;)

Thanks again Nick:  The word collapse was my embellishment not his.  The hardware is ok, it's just that it all crashed as you predicted.  I will pass your last comments on to him.  It is a public holiday here in Australia today, so he won't be working, and he has to order the RAM in.  I will be away from here until Tuesday after which I can report progress.  Today is ANZAC day, from the words Australia and New Zealand Army Corp, and the date is that of the dawn landing at Gallipoli, Turkey at the beginning of the First World War. The campaign failed but it was iconic of the new Australian military and its soldiers.  It has become our veteran's day equivalent, and commemorates those who have served in every war and theatre since, including Iraq.  As the years have gone by it is becoming more significant and as the majority of Australians are no longer engaged actively in churches it seems to provide some replacement.  Sermon over, but it is a long winded way of saying that the tech's shop is closed so the next report will be next week.
