The system never hangs in windows. It usually hangs on a start up when I reboot. When I get nothing on my screen, I then hit the power button off and then back on. If I still can't get nothing then I do a CMOS clear.

What happened?

Did it blow up??

Did you get a new power supply?

All this quiet and no tweakin means something is going on  :D

Black ZR-1: If you are trying to sell that to the 'other-half', you can not sell it based on overclocking. What you have to do is tell her the truth. The truth is:

insert own personality:
The PSU that came with the tower (or you bought) was not the right one for the video card, memory and processor. Now that the system is running at the correct speed, the power supply problem is showing itself because its making my computer, that thing that makes me very happy, unstable and unable to be used as it was intended.

This is not about overclocking. Its about putting you in a power supply that is meant for the parts you are running. You will have to bite the bullet and admit you screwed up (or who ever specified the parts for the tower) but if you approach it based on trying to hot-rod, it will be twice as hard to get it past the bank.

The convince routine never works, especially when its about a toy or something over and above. It has to be addressed the same as if the current power supply is overheating and is ready to burn up. It must be replaced, if you catch my drift.

You have experience in such matters.

I could never have got my 900 dollar purchase approved at the end of last year without the smell of transformer in the house.

Why do you think I told you to go ahead and nail it as hard as possible that first night

I wanted to get a PSU so I wouldn't have to upgrade for a while.

I will do a RAM upgrade probably in the Summer. I've already pushed the envelope with my new batch of goodies.

P.S. Nick, I know about the 'Pause' technique
