Airplane lights

My FSX displays any plane's exterior wing lights, tail lights, etc. as large retangular colored boxes by each light location. Any one know why this happens? It is truly annoying. Can't enjoy this version of FlightSim. Prefer FS9...

Try a repair installation of FSX.

Must be some corrupted effects files.

That is indicative of missing texture files (.bmp ) for the effects files (.fx )
