No Aircraft Landing Lights-Fix

Apologies if this has already appeared, I did look first-so don`t go sounding off!  Not a major problem but at some airports where its very dark and gloomy not having landing lights can be a problem.  Once or twice I`ve gone into a location thinking it to be empty when theres actually an aircraft parked up in the shadows.

I looked for a setting that needed changing, looked at the panels and couldn`t find it.  I then looked in the fsx.cfg where I found it.....

NOTE:

The 737 switch is weird, off is on and on is off, 747 is ok on the switch, I downloaded a 777 and this too is ok but has a neat taxi light too which is a tad less bright than the default landing lights.

do you mean ,you can actualy can make FS9 planes landing lights and taxy light Visible? I gotta see that..I'll be back


EDIT: FS9 planes are made using makemdl9 , only few planes will show you the Glass of the cockpit and none of them will show any of these light Landing_lights and Taxi_lights because there compiled by makemdl9 ,I had this issue when I made the Hawker using makemdl9 instead using the new FSX_SDK,so I made couple tricks manipulating the MakeMDL.parts.xml of it making a plane with a drawing simulating the ground light ,exept the news Improved models for fsx ,None of the FS9 models will show these lights..

I was talking about FSX, hence fsx.cfg adjustment.  The lights light up the runway, taxiway, airport surroundings like a headlight on a car.  Thats all I wanted to do and now have working.

Great ! as the default the FSX.cfg comes in LANDING_LIGHTS=1 ,don't misunderstand me, some people don't know this ,beside of some incompatible Gauges this is the only issue with the old fs9 Add-on planes ,the windshield glass in some planes, and these lights wont show in FSX ,many people doesn't know this , even I went runing to check the FSX.cfg  :o would you imagine if we could fix this light issue ,instead to be adding Parts to the makemdl_parts.xml?

I just found the reason I had no lights in the first place, the selection tick box in the settings should have done it but.....

Not so long ago I loaded the French config file over the top of my existing one.  I have 3 different video cards showing in there, 2 entries for LANDING_LIGHTS=0 and a few other things I need to look at.  I`ll either junk it or start again.  Not so sure it did a lot anyway.

As for the problem you`re talking about Alrot, you`ll have to do a search on it. I never use FS9, totally happy with FSX and then some.

I also have 2 PCI cards (ATI all in wonder) [smiley=evil.gif] Im waiting for the easter bunny to bring be more job and collect enough to buy 2 more monitors and try a panoramic view,

I also not using fs9 anymore ,I spect to have more time and learn about this new Format FSX-SDK and make the planes realistics as the default models some day and never use the old makemdl
