Microsoft should be getting the message by now that it needs to take another approach at controlling our machines. The FSX Deluxe is being returned to them at an alarming rate because of customer dissatisfaction. The "game" will back out of any machine that hiccups while FSX is running. And of course Windows does not hiccup. Right? Well Microsoft thinks so, after all it created the perfect OS for us low life's! I really don't know what Microsoft uses for OS systems at there head offices, to be sure it isn't XP/XPpro! I sound a little peeved, and rightly so as I had to send mine back because it messed with my system so badly, even there FSX Support couldn't help! But on a hopefully better subject I want to wish everyone a Happy Holiday.

Because all the so-called support will tell me is to re-install FSX!

Let me say again and stress, this is a legal copy of FSX!!

However, there is now a C***k out and MS has forced me to use it. My totaly legal copy of FSX has been re-activated...no thanks to MS!

Let's keep in mind what is a stake here.
There is evidently some kind of bug that causes de-activation given the right set of circumstances (whatever they may be) and it has to be assumed that it can strike at any time.

I totaly support activation and most anti piracy efforts.
However, I'll be damned if I will re-install FSX if this happens again.
I will

DOS, so many memories.  I wondered what where the mysteries of Deltree and what was that funny little asterisk for, wildcards, what are they?  mmmm deltree *.* wonder what that does?  Why are all those filenames flashing past?  Took my broken puter to the shop, they kept it 2 days, didn`t charge me and gave me

Aaaah I remember those distant far off days when programmes released by M(qualcosa)s were just as bug ridden!!! Can anyone remember. The early versions of DOS with Format c:\ Y/N      If you pressed Y it did it without further ado. No "Are you sure?" They may make a flight simulator but have you noticed that they are not allowed anywhere near real aviation. Their software is simply not reliable anough for real aviation

Unfortunately it is being used in the medical industry and not just to run databases. The "just reboot it" mindset may be fine for spreadsheets and documents but this stuff is getting used for everything these days. I am afraid it is only a matter of time before my next flight is cancelled because the aircraft "is no longer activated" and the poor pilot is on hold for support!

The bottom line to this thread is this:

If you do not like a program take it back to the store and get your money back.

I guess ACES didn't like it either.
This is why they are releasing SP1.  ;)

I hear alot of people having trouble with FSX and from my knowledge most of those folks dont have the recommended requirements, most people buy games and never look at the requirements.I wouldnt put all the blame on a company and say the program is bug ridded.
