problem with sound

Postby P3-CInflightOrdnanceman » Wed Apr 11, 2007 2:08 pm

I recently downloaded 3 aircraft from this site.  I have a problem with sound for ATC.   The sound is very broken so bad that you can not tell what is being said.  I checked the aircraft from FSX which work fine.  The aircraft from Abacus work fine.  Any help out there?

Which aircraft did you download? Sounds for ATC should not be affected no matter what aircraft you are in as the sound does not come from each aircrafts sound folder. With out knowing which aircraft are involved it might have something to do with displaying the textures for that aircraft it could be slowing your system down and causing this effect.
With the problem aircraft selected try turning off AI and turning down other sliders to see if the problem goes away. If it does then you will need to tweak your system in order to use the aircraft without the problem. If it does not go away then there may be a problem with the aircraft

OK I am at work right now so I can not look at them but if you are only having this problem with these aircraft and no others than your system is being slowed down trying to display these aircraft.
Like I said before what you want to try is to load one of the problem aircraft then start turning down sliders to see if it will go away I would start with Traffic settings then try turning down the Clouds and then start going toward the less dense settings on scenery and autogen.
Check out the sticky FAQ at the top of forum it will give you some ideas as to what to try. 8-)

Do you get the same problem ie sound distortion when operating flaps? I had similar sound 'static' when receiving instructions from ATC and flaps but not with every aircraft I am using. What I did was to click on your start button then run and type in dxdiag then OK. Goto sound tab and try turning down your hardware accelaration slider until you lose the interference with ATC. It worked for me.

Hope all is well in your world today
