Postby aReyoUIn86 » Tue Feb 06, 2007 7:34 am

Hi all....I just bought FSX deluxe edition and I choose to start at HKG_VHHH by the time it finished loading all the things, all I saw was the two Rwy. Can anyone help me out with it? Also I downlaod some BGL file for VHHH from AVSIM I download a couple of them, I try them all but none of them worked! Above all they all design for fs2004 so do they suppose to work for FSX or not??

I have not been to that location as of this post but I guess you mean that it is not showing runways that actually exist in the real world. If that is the case you will find quite a few airports like this M$ did not get every airport correct. But this can be fixed by the use of AFCAD and www.airnav.com (US AIRPORTS ONLY) Just input the airport code into the airnav site and it should show the lattest specs for that airport either print it out or copy it than use AFCAD to make the corrections to the airport in FSX

AS for scenery files for FS9 I am not sure if they will work in FSX or not. Where did you put the files at? 8-)

This is Hong Kong airport...in other words is not in the US. I'm saying all I can see is the two runway..but no terminal no nothing, I try some airport in the US such as KJFK and KLAX but none of those airports building show up. Only runway. :(

I put the AF2_VHHHbgl file in Flight Simulator X/Addon Scenery/Scenery

If this is the case it sounds like your display settings are not high enough to see the buildings.
All scenery is made to display at a certain setting such as sparse medium dense and extremly dense. Depending on who made the scenery so if they set it at extemly dense then you will not see it unless you have your scenery slider is set to extremly dense. This is all controled by your slider settings and can be edited by clicking on your settings icon in the main menu at start up or can be found by clicking on options and display on the top menu. If memory serves me corect Hong Kong was one of the default High detailed airports and you will need at least a Sparse setting to see any buildings and might even need to set it at extremly dense to see everything there is at any given airport. BEWARE CHANGING YOUR SETTINGS WILL HAVE A EFFECT ON YOUR FRAME RATES so if after making the change you notice stuttering or low frame rates your only option is to return to the orignal settings untill you can update your system. You might not have a descent video card or not enough system ram. The video card you use will have a greater effect on frame rates then just about any thing else. 8-)
If you list your system specs we might be able to help you to set your sliders at the right posistion for your system. It can sometimes take a few attempts to get the best from your system it is mostly trial and error.
If you look at the sticky posts at the top of this forum you can see some of the suggestions to help with frame rates.
I would also suggest you back up your FSxcfg file before you make any changes  8-)

ok...at last what do you mean by the FSxcfg? :)

The FSX cfg file I am talking about is the main file FSX uses to control the sim like FS2004 the cfg file is a hidden file and can be found C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\FSX.

In order to see the file you must turn on the option to show hidden files first

I must caution you that what ever you do do not delete any hidden files as that could cause a huge problem.
It is the cfg file where you can adjust how FSX works.

If you look under the stickys at the top of this post it will show you some of the options you can use to fine tune FSX for your system. 8-)
