Plane Question...

Postby bowler_man » Fri Feb 02, 2007 10:57 am

When i download military jets like F14's, in the cockpit where it would have like altimeters and speed indicators and stuff, they are just black boxes. Is that just because the plane isn't a good download, or do i have do put the meters in manually somehow?

If you get black boxes, that means that the gauges of that plane are either missing (because of bad installation), either incompatible with FSX.
For the first case, check the archive if the gauges are there, and check the readme to see if you haven't forgot anything when installing the plane.
For the second case, check if you can find any FSX compatibilty update for that plane.

"either incompatible with FSX. " or the included gauges were not installed to the FSX Gauges Folder  :)

You do not need to put the gauges in the FSX gauges folder.
In fact, I would even recommend NOT to do it.
You'd better place them directly in the panel folder of your plane.
