gooney bird missions.

I was wondering if anyone has tried to simulate the type of missions undertook by C-47 pilots during WW2?
I was thinking about this yesterday whilst playing IL-2, even though you can fly fighter, JABO and bomber missions, you couldn't fly a seriously overlooked part of the allied war effort. I know that you can drop objects so you could drop parcels and supplies for ground troops, partisans, resistance movements and so forth.
You could also include failures to systems to give the impression of flying with battle damage.
Another idea is that you get points for accuracy of the drop and deductions for misdrops.
I know that the sim now has a glider tow, I was wondering if you can use the C-47 to do that as I have another idea for a mission profile (if there is a freeware large glider to be had).

I'm sorry if these questions and ideas sound daft as I only have the demo at the moment so I don't even know if any of the above is possible, but I thought I would share it with you anyway. :)

Those are great ideas and from what I have seen in the SDK for FSX, it looks entirely possible. Just give it some time and I bet we have some awesome "homemade" missions

Sounds like it's the aviator's lucky day:
The newest FREE Mission Download at FSXMission.com is for soaring and
The number-one (of Top-10) download at FSXMission.com uses the DC-3
