Two things:
1). Simv, your server needs a cleanup.
2). triton. Are wee talking about money here? Who will not make money? My freind Bill will not give you anything for free. Why should he. He has your pc  in the power of his hand.

I'm not sure what you mean by "wee" .. I was responding to Katahu :)

was it..

   * Wee, which can be used as either an adjective or a noun, to mean something very small
   * Wee, a slang term for urine or urination in the United Kingdom
   * Wee-wee, a childish term for an anatomical part in the United States and Canada

Not to be confused with:

   * We, a pronoun in the English language
   * Wii, a game console by Nintendo
   * "Gonads and Strife," also known as "Weeeeee!", a song by Threebrain
   * Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive, or the WEEE Directive

or did you mean "you"  in which case I've no idea what your on about, or what logic has taken you to that conclusion. besides I never discuss money, it's so vulgar ;)

Charlie,

I'd have to say that earlier today I was getting lots of time-outs when trying to connect to the forums.. the performance appears fine now.

triton.
I can see you are talking around me. Are you teaching english and us slang? If you are, then, please, give us over here in europe a lesson. Then, maybe, we can make a wee or a pee.
I dont know what you prefer.
BUT remember, you are not alone in this world.

Think you misunderstood me. This is not threads or topics. Its plain world wide speeking problems.
Cheers to you Charley.

No worries. I wasn't implying anything, just wondering why. :) I have to admit I think you aren't the only one who experiences some problems, although with the new server i've found them to be very isolated - often being limited to a couple of minutes.

Here we go again with the "straying-from-the-main-subject" routine. ;D

First we descuss about FSX's activation process, then we discuss on what it really means, then all of a sudden we talk about SimViation's forum server. Sooner or later we might talk about aliens from outer space. ;D

If FSX is anything like programs like 3dstudio Max 7 and Adobe photoshop CS2 (both of which I have) they have the same type of setup... with photoshop.. you have only the one install...
if you get a new computer, upgrade mobo or such... you must first... deactivate the old copy (in PS there is a setup under "help")... not sure if FSX has the same thing... but you could call MS and give them the information you gave when you registered the first time ... "why do you think they ask that?"

after deactivation the old copy... you install and on the new system/upgraded one and away you go.

Maybe it would be worth making a product activation sticky with the MS Support link in it. :)

Here is my translation of that mumbo jumbo:

You can use the same key on two different installs at the same time, say on your laptop and desktop, but if you went to install it on a friends PC it wont work unless you uninstall it from one of your computers. You can install it many times with the one key, just not more than two separate installs at once.

So how does the 3rd computer "know"? Do you have to be online to install FSX?

I did a test to end this once and for all I have it installed on my computer, then I went and installed it on another computer, and uninstalled it off that one and went to a friends house tried to install it did not work, so called MS to see what they had to say after holding for 30mins I was told that it can only be installed on up to two computer. If you uninstall it off of one of them you still can not put it on another computer, so then you must buy another activation key off of www.microsoft.com. So thats the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

As stated in at least two replies on page 1 and 2 of this thread which directly quoted the Microsoft FAQ. Can't anyone believe Microsoft's own website? ::) Must've been talking to myself...

...Anyway, that FAQ link is now stickied in Eno's FSX FAQ thread, so maybe people will stop going round in circles... :)
