problem adding 737-800 skins

Postby pepdav » Wed Jan 03, 2007 1:20 am

I downloaded, unzipped and added the 2 texture files(Northwest and Westjet) that are available on this site to the 737-800 folder but it won't recognize them and doesn't show in my selection window during game play. I also downloaded the Sothwest package and 330 package and had no problem with those working. Any ideas?

No I did not. Didn't realize I had to. All I did was add the texture folder to the 737 folder. How do I do that?

I downloaded the Northwest texture to check it out. This is copied from Install.Readme.txt. [quote]737-800 Northwest Airlines

Thanks a bunch Hagar ;D. I got the Northwest one loaded but had problems with the Westjet one. I noticed there's different planes files for Westjet so I think I'll try another one

You're welcome. I couldn't find the Westjet one. Are you sure it's for FSX?

No it was for 2004 but it says you can do it-isn't that correct? I just down loaded Iberia 747-200 model so I can add the Wardair model. Iberia works but Wardair doesn't. Here's the files as I entered them. Do the Wardair one's need to be positioned the exact same(spaces and order of sequence) as the Iberia ones? I'd appreciatec your valued opinion and I promise I won't bug you after this ;D

Sorry, that doesn't apply to repaints. The textures must be for the exact version of the original aircraft. The FSX versions of the default aircraft are different to those in FS2004.

Here's the link for the Iberia 747-200. It's 3rd from bottom of page.

http://www.simviation.com/fs2004jets39.htm

I don't see any files with .pw in either folder

The Wardair one I found here:

http://www.fsdome.com/showpage.php?url= ... est_73.htm

Just type in search 'wardair' and it's the first one that pops up. Can't get a direct link to it sorry

Ah, that would explain why I couldn't find it. I don't usually get involved with files from other websites but I downloaded it to check it out. This is configured as a complete aircraft so you don't need the original. To install it paste the folder named "posky b742 wardair" into FSX\SimObjects\airplanes. For it to work in FSX you need to re-alias the panel & sound. The easiest way would be to paste copies of the default 747 Panel & Sound folders into it overwriting existing files/folders when prompted.*

*PS. I just noticed the sound folder of this aircraft is named sound.pw. You will need to delete the original sound.pw folder before renaming the new one.

Ok -got the Wardair one in. Quick test and everything seems great. Appreciate it again :) I'll have to buy you a beer at the internet bar sometime. All I have to do now is wait patiently for the Westjet one to be created but that's no problem, I can wait
