Hey, nobody's perfect . . . but, always remember to pillage before you burn!  ::)

Here's what I got after following Ian's Readme:


"Open the Zip Folder and "Copy and Paste" the "Scenery & Texture" Folder into your main FSX Folder" -- Ian Thatcher
I knew replacing the scenery and texture folders in FSX would not work, but . . . who am I to argue.

All this brings up another deficiency of FSX.

With FS9, we has detailed satalite photos of various major cities..
We no longer have them in FSDX as MS evidently thought it was not worth the money to get more higher resolution replacements.

The results is even major cities like New York City have taken a step backwards .

It is certainly no accident, and speaks volumes, that the demo contained one of about only two areas that uses a satalite photo.

That probably explains why London is such a mess!
And confirms my belief that FSX is actually a "downgrade!"
There seem to be so many problems of one sort or another that it is better for M(qualcosa)s to bite the bullet withdraw FSX and re release it only when DX10 and Vista are up and running giving them time to sort out the mess.
But then again M(qualocsa)s are famous for releasing bug infested programmes!! It's their trademark!!
