Assuming the examples you quoted are correct I suspect that the 3rd party hardware referred to is incompatible with FSX. If this is payware the best bet would be to contact the manufacturer/supplier's support department.

A quick search found an FSX update for GoFlight module here. http://www.goflightinc.com/order/index.php

Hi Hagar,
Thanks for replying - the Goflight software is the correct version (ie for FSX) and should be fine. I just can't see why FSX keeps forgetting that I've said to trust it. I've posted in the GoFlight forums but no reply so far...

I'm not sure how the new module is recognised by FSX but there's quite possibly an existing FSX.cfg entry for the previous version. You could try removing that entry before restarting FSX. This could be listed under the [Trusted] header like 3rd party gauges.

This is only an educated guess. I doubt that too many people have this hardware so you're not likely to get any specific help. It's really an issue for the hardware manufacturers to sort out. From what I can see of it these things are hardly cheap. If you pay good money for the product you should expect full support.

Solved this problem - the fault was in the default settings in the EXE.XML file. There are two things to check if this happes to you.

1. Ensure that each entry has its ManualLoad set to False

2. Ensure that the Launch.ManualLoad setting at the top of the file is also set to False.

Code: Select all
<SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0">
  <Descr>Launch</Descr>
  <Filename>EXE.xml</Filename>
  <Disabled>False</Disabled>
  <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad>
  <Launch.Addon>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
    <Name>GoFlight Hardware Interface</Name>
    <Path>C:\Program Files\GoFlightFSX\GFDevFSX.exe</Path>
    <CommandLine></CommandLine>
    <NewConsole>True</NewConsole>
  </Launch.Addon>
</SimBase.Document>

All the best
