aircraftAI, soundai what?

Postby Bubblehead » Fri Nov 10, 2006 5:29 pm

??? ??? ??? ???

I've been using some FS9 airraft in FSX somewhat successfully by following the tutorial submitted, that is, by creating and inserting "FS9aircraft" folder in the main FSX folder and adding the line "SimObjectPaths.6=FS9aircraft" in the appropriate section of the FSX.cfg. But now I may have to review my procedure. I've been adding the FS9 aircraft folder in the SimObject\airplane vs. pasting it to the "FS9aircraft" folder. It worked for me. Is this the correct procedure?

Further I've been seeing the word AI, such as aircraftAI, soundai - what are these? For example, some FSX aircraft have "sound" and "soundai". I appreciate any clarification on this matter before I screw things up.

Hi Bubblehead. The aircraft should work from either location. The idea behind the FS9Aircraft folder is to keep your addon aircraft separate from the defaults. You can add as many Aircraft folders as you wish providing they're suitably named & you also add a CFG entry pointing to them.

I assume the soundai folder is the sound used by the aircraft when used as AI traffic.
