Another strange thing..

Postby RollerBall » Wed Nov 01, 2006 4:28 am

Is it just my force feedback joystick (a Logitech Wingman Force 3D).....

... but what I'm finding is that when, say, a heli is static on the ground with engine running, my force feedback stick is constantly pulsing back and forward.

Same with an amphibian or float plane resting on the water, even with engine(s) off.

It's getting very (VERY!) irritating as the pulses are quite strong and I would say it can't be doing the stick a lot of good either.

Don't get it in FS04....

Everyone knows forcefeedback is the most unrealistic thing ever and is just there to make a fecking mess of your flying. Turn it off. ;D ;)

yep - shut it off.

a good force feedback system will run you about $60,000 for a small 2 place 6-DOF hydraulic base for a flight sim :-)

Could it be a similar problem like in CFS2 (or FS9 ?) with some planes that would shake the joystick while taxiing ?

You cant just SHUT the FFB off in a Wingman 3d in FSX (FS9 I could) You do it, you cant land straight or anything, Leave ALL forces on except stick shaker.... it might reduce the problem but, if your like me.... its time to get Fsforce....

The only thing that sucks about the X-52, no FFB. :(

I went and got the best of both - rumble force. No whacky moves just the vibrations and rattles.

Thats not a bad thing. Thats a great thing. Back in the days of CFS2 you couldn't take off from a carrier with FFB turned on cause that damn thing would shake you stright over the side.

Rumble force is a controller right? or is it some software? I googled and got 3 million results...

In the control section of FSX, if you have force feedback enabled, there is an option box to shut off ground forces.
