No it's not a stupid remark. It's a perfectly valid opinion.**

I don't agree though. See what Craig said in his post about games as well.

And don't forget something else. To you it's a game. To Microsoft it's a global brand which sells for $millions all over the world and makes them a lot of money.

Just like a plumber who does a shoddy job and then asks you for the full amount he quoted (do you pay up - maybe you do....) they are not entitled to make that money just by putting any old product on the shelves, especially if it contains mistakes that they haven't told us about before we gave them our cash. This was supposed to be the most 'communicated about' and tested version of FS ever. That's what they told us anyway.

And from a technical point of view, proper LWMs are pretty fundamental to a program like this.

Anyway, I've said all I'm going to on this one ( except for one more posting   :)  in reply to John

** This was a reply to Cobra's posting - John's (tahnks John) came in while I was typing.

Yeh right, i know what your saying. I just reckon we should cut them some slack, mapping the planet isnt the easiest job in the world ;)

What a shame...FS9 looks better than FSX for sure...anyone else notice how in FSX the scenery just jut's into the water...FS9 at least has shore lines...It's something that I really find annoying... :-/

Maybe so, but when it's your job, it should be done properly.

Just for comparison, how have they done Washington DC and Paris?

(As in the American capitol and the other most famous capitol city in the world.)

I did, but I felt it necessary for the point to get across...The lack of thoes shorelines is really annoying...makes it look like a scenery error... :-/

Also, I was never a big fan of photosceneries...I don't care how accurately the autogen is placed, the houses and all still look flat on the ground...

And yet another thing, I would really love to see HSSS in FSX although I understand that this is not the place to request it... ;)

Imagine being presented with Rollerball's comparison pics before either FS9 or FSX was out, and were asked to choose the better of the bunch. Funny thing is, I'd bet almost everyone would pick the FS9 rendition. Hmm, wait, there are after all geese and elephants and robotic traffic to enhance the experience. :) Of course, it comes down to a matter of personal preference, and I thank everyone here for sharing their pics so that I have an idea of what I'm missing by sticking with FS9. Wait - maybe those washed-out river areas are supposed to represent greenhouse warming, and may therefore be actually a more [accurate] representation of things to come!

Ooops... wait .... sorry...... it's not a "scenery error" it is "New cutting edge enhanced terrain mesh and ground textures, allowing you to experience now the coming effects of ongoing greenhouse gas emissions into the Earth's atmosphere."

Except they've messed it up again because the sea levels are ment to rise, not fall to reveal the bedrock of the worlds rivers.

No... the rising sea levels are causing the flooding.  The exposed bedrock is from the impact of North Korea's ongoing nuclear testing causing seismic anomalies.   ;D

You gotta' keep your facts straight, you know.   ;D ;D ;D
