Can anyone cure my shimmering trees?

Which setting is most likely to cure/reduce that irritating shimmer?

Newer video card drivers, maybe mipmap settings.

Anisotropic Filtering. You may have to try several settings, depending on what you run your AntiAliasing at. (You can usually set this from your desktop, I have an ATI card, and set it through the Catalyst control centre. Don't get too carried away, as some games have a real framerate hit if you set it too high (Like 16X).

turn of AA and AF see what your results are

a screenshot may also be of some use just so we know exactly what the problem is and can give you some better advice

In case you have a NVidia card, don't forget that if the card drivers are set on "Best Performance" or even "Performance", some other settings like the anisotropic flitering may be be as efficient as it is supposed to be.

Try to set Best Quality, just for test. You will loose A LOT OF performance, but you may notice the difference, and tell us if the"shimering" is still there.

This is interesting - I have an ATI Radeon 9000 and if I use the latest available drivers - FS-X won't run at all...!

I find that just waiting for the wind to drop cures my shimmering tree problems... ;)...!

Paul... ;D..!

I would imagine that because the trees (leaves) are made of hundreds (thousands?) of complex pixels, the graphics card/processor has a really hard time trying to catch up with the ever changing scenery, especially when banking an aircraft, (the very worst set of conditions for the screen!).
Win 8.1 64-bit. DX11. Advent Tower. Intel i7-3770 3.9 GHz 8-core. 8 GB System RAM. AMD Radeon HD 7700 1GB RAM. DVD ROM. 2 Terra Byte SATA Hard Drive. Philips 17" LCD Monitor. Saitek Cyborg X Fly-5 Joystick. ...and a Briggs and Stratton Petrol Lawn Mower.
