Hi guys, have been away for a bit with school, lacrosse, work (battlefield 2), etc....but anyway...picked up deluxe ed. today form Gamestop and I thought I'd throw out my first impressions.
1- Obviously, I now know that I will DEFINITELY need Vista and DX10. There's no way around it. I don't actually have a problem with this since modernizing and upgrading PCs is something all of us have been getting used to for a good decade now...my only trouble here is that it's just not out yet. Like, we have the goods- possibly the most immense and in-depth simulation ever produced for any system on earth-- and we can't max out it's potential.
2- Blurry textures problems-- i'm sure i'm not alone when i say that i was curious so i clicked to view the movie pop up for "FS returning veterans" upon my installation and first running of the program. The video that showed up just made me say "ew". This was easily taken care of in the setting menu, however, it seems like they've reaaaalllyyy scaled back the actual options we had in there in FS9. Maybe that's more user-friendly, but honestly, the people playing FS games these days-- are we really avrage, everyday, run-of-the-mill gamers?
3- The missions are tons of fun. TONS. I haven't even applied any of these "tweaks" lited by other forummers and the missions all run smoothyl (including landing a 747 into Changi in a monsoon, a great time by the way). You really feel like you're accomplishing something in doing these missions-- bravo to MS for that.
4- Aircraft looks very detailed, that's sweet. FINALLY.
