Ground Traffic

Postby an-225 » Fri Aug 18, 2006 8:20 pm

In FS2004 there's an airstrip in Kuwait that's called Al Abduliyah Highway. It's basically a runway with a road at each end. Will ground traffic affect this strip???

The demo only shows St. Maarten and as far as Middle Eastern scenery goes, we have no clue how it will be in the final version.

In the getting started flight with the de Beaver, fly to the airport's closest end of the runway.  If you've got traffic on (whatever % except 0) then you should see cars going by on a nearby road.  If they have this in the demo, they should hav it in the full at ur location...

Yep most probably.
I don't know how this airport looks like in FS2004, perhaps you could post a screenshot of it ?
Anyway, the situation is simple:
- this airport in FSX will be "at least" as detailled as it is in FS9 default
- if it has any gates, then it will have ground airport traffic (luggages, fuel etc...)
- if there are roads, there will be cars...

Now, you say that both ends of the runway are touching roads ? I think that there will be most probably cars on it, but it won't have an influence on the plane trafic :)

It'll have an effect on the user's aircraft if the engines suddenly cut off when you almost reach takeoff speed... ;D

I'd expect the road to just go off to one side ;)

Also str1ker, Pentium 4s are single core, can't be Pentium D as you're socket 478 not 775.

You sure?

in control panel, system, it writes 2.80 Ghz twice, and any program which detects the number of cores, they all say 2 cpus.

Dont argue with the hardware, or software...  (unless they were made by untrustworthy sources...)

According to taildragger, they did that on purpose because there are FR issues with the road traffic in the Demo that have been solved in the real release.

Seems like several of the problems folks have had with the demo have been down to issues with the software that have been dealt with in the real release, so that's encouraging and gives hope to the guys with lower end kit who've been watching a slide show in the demo when the sliders have been increased to 'reasonable' levels. Maybe (just maybe) the real release will turn out to perform a wee bit better.....
