The people who enjoy the demo, are the people with good computers that give them a good experience of FSX.

I have a good computer and it ran FSX quite well but overall I was not that impressed with FSX. The only thing I was impressed with was the water and moving cars and boats.

It's because people have expected too much from the demo. A demo is a taster, not a reflection of how the finished game shall be. It's impossible for it to be perfect, as the game is still a work in progress. Simple.

What we really need is someone with a top range dual core CPU, loadsa fast RAM and a really top end SLI graphics set up to tell us how they found it. My guess is they'd say it's great.

Reason - when FS2004 came out it pushed the hardware technology envelope amd we all moaned about how it wouldn't run on the PCs we had. Gradually over the last 3 years most of us have managed to improve our specs until even if we're not at the cutting edge, we're mostly happy with the graphics and FR we have.

Only right that when the new version of FS comes out it too should push the current envelope. Something wrong if it didn't. So it's hardly surprising if the majority of us are having problems with our current rigs - but just as before we'll beg, borrow (and steal some of us  ;) too I'll bet - no names....) to improve our hardware.

In a few weeks, just like FS2004, a large chunk of the SimV membership will be hurling their bump mipped aircraft around the FSX skies without so much as a second thought while the rest of us will be scraping up the dough to get a suitable system together so we can enjoy it as well a few months later. That's PC technology for ya - but I'll bet 99% of us will be there in the end ........ and in a year or so talking about the joys the next version might bring us. Just wait and see.

What it really comes down to is that FSX is just an improvement of FS9.  The water looks great, there are new features, some good, some bad, and not much more.  Am I disappointed, yes, but not because its not the perfect game.  I am disappointed because the elements that I consider important to flying havent changed that much.  ATC is still the same (except for  missions), and needs  a major upgrade, the flight dynamics arent improved, and there is no FMC or weather radar.  I think these are core elements of the sim that should be rock solid before adding many new features.  So, what do I like?  Scenery looks good, traffic on approach will be nice, and ground vehicles at airports will be great.  Its amazing how strong peoples emotions are with this sim, I guess thats why there is so much loyalty, some stuff you  love and some you hate.  I think in the end we should all just enjoy it, lets hope it doesnt end.  In two years, the add-ons for this sim will be vast in number and amazing.  Todd

That sounds like my rig . The FSX demo ran very well, no stutters, nothing. I can post some shots in the freeware board if people want...

yeah its great!  runs pretty well on my machine.  i say "pretty well" b/c, like so many of us have pointed out...it is a beta and demo... Microsoft is still working on the product.  I am sure when it is released...most if not all of the problems you are facing now will be resolved.

Sorry if my experiences don't concur with yours but that's life. And I'll say what I want no matter what self-apponted censors like yourself would like me to. Sorry mate - I'm too old to change now.  ;)
