The one thing that will become evident once it is released  is that not everyone will be happy about it......... that's life.

That is so true. Another good example is my last job. There are people out there that will "never" be happy even if you just gave $1 Million in cash to them [even if they are taking anti-depressants]. :-/

FSX ordinary edition is likely to be only FS9 with the very best of the free addons now marketed by Microsoft ie Microsoft is catching up with the Simworld (meaning the addons will no longer "be free")
The Deluxe edition probably will show some noticeable advances but obviously will only work at an optimal level with Vista and since the EU won't allow Vista to be sold until.............?

I agree sam I think the differences in the standard and deluxe versions will be added a/c or mesh, etc. They address the Vista thing here in the 3rd quetion.

Difference between standard and deluxe will be the SDK's. Gmax, probably. and maybe some aircraft (easier to include/exclude than mesh). Just like FS2002 standard and Fs2002 pro.

I live in Europe, and have no intention of buying FSX.

I will stick with FS9 having spent a great deal of time compiling authentic dynamics, I have no desire whatsoever to repeat the process. As far I am concerned it's good advice to stay with FS9, not because of issues with Vista etc but simply because what I have works well and looks good.

I don't need another sim, and havn't got the time (or the inclination) to make a sim out of a game either.

Please, refrain from 'Eu-bashing' it is not the European Union who is causing a problem.

I devote a lot of my time compiling dynamics, and making authentic turbine sound files for CFS3 and FS9. In good will I often give my work FREE to people in countries outside the Eu.

Why do I bother ???

If you don't like us nasty Europeans, please don't expect to pick our brains for free.

When I mention the EU, I am basically refering to the governments and politicians. I have nothing against the average european citizen. Just a personal grudge against the inner workings of politics.

OMFG, i hate that anti trust thing. its crap. just because the US economy is ahead the EU we have to fine them so that we can get a head start. WTF. they make the OS and sell their products. WMP is optional, u cna install another MP if you want. EUROPE SUCKS! (UK RULES we are our own continent )

If Bill Gates had his own way he'd rule!!!! Look at FSX M$ has taken FS9 added to it all the best free addons and will market it as FSX thus making us pay for something we can get now free.  forcing us to upgrade to HIS Vista in order to get the real benefits of the new sim.

im sorry but in simple terms

the reason vista is delayed is beacuse of Windows Media Player 11. because the WMP packages is so good other companies feel this is unfair.
we may all say we hate microsoft, when we know that we could not use a computer effectivl without it. bill gates effectivly made the modern world what it is. because of the supremacy of WMP (i use it all the time. none

All very good. Except the US economy is not ahead of Europe. The US economy is barely out of some very deep poo poo with the dollar being worth 54 pence. 10 years ago it was worth nearer 70. :P

Yes!!  The US economy is in fact in dire straights compared to Europe, the Far East etc!!!!!  This battle regarding the monopolising of the computer world by M$ has been going on for a number of years. And has nothing to do with the economies of the US or EU. We each have our own taste as to which brand of media player we like and the EU is allowing us to make that choice for ourselves and NOT allowing Mr Gates to force us to use his version whether we want to or not
Katahu YOU DON'T NEED TO SHOUT It is quite apparent from ALL of your posts that you think the sun shines out of ..................!!!!  Try to be less blinkered and accept other people's point of views!
