Problem with this is that the work may well contain the work of others who do not wish their stuff to be freely used on other projects.
This would be the basic texturing and details. The sort of elements that would be OK would only cover such things as re created titles and logos, which of course would save them being recreated from scratch.
Having this as a back up though is not so sound as it implies that someone would produce work without backing it up, or needing to back up, on external drives or DVD, surely something that no serious painter would not do.
You will though find that many painters do share their work amongst other in a private group, a very workable situation.
