Texture problems ARRRRRRGGGGHHHHH!

Postby webberernie » Tue Feb 08, 2011 10:29 am

Can someone please help me? I recently learned how to add textures to planes. I learned on HJG planes and they all worked perfectly but today I downloaded a USAF texture that said it required the Moach Experience 737 which I also downloaded. After adding the texture file I added the new texure cfg to the planes air.cfg but when I tried to save it it kept saying error make sure path name and destination file are correct. I know Im doing it right because I did it to about twenty planes from HJG. Whats wrong? I have had this happen many times to other planes what can I do? Please help.  >:(

Right-click on the icon of the Aircraft.cfg you wish to edit & select Properties. Make sure the Read-only option is not checked.

PS. If you have Vista/Win7 you might need to paste the Aircraft.cfg file to your Desktop before editing. Then save & paste it back again.

Thanks so much! When I copied the air.cfg to the desktop it worked. Not sure why I had to do that but it worked. The HJG aircraft didn't have to be done that way but whatever.  As long as it worked.  Thank You again. :)

Interesting.  I have FS9 installed on a Vista system and don't have to do that;  just click on the files and edit them in place.

Hi,

One thing to watch for with any config file is the path as fs9/fsx don't install to the C:\programs files path in win 7.

I have no problems editting files where they are, I'm not needing to copy to desktop and i have uac turned on.
regards

Steve
