Frame Rate

I've just updated my video drivers and now I see what looks like the frame rate in the upper right hand corner:

I checked the fs9.cfg and I have "HIDEINFOTEXT=1" listed under Main.

I have also noticed that this is showing up in Google Sketchup 7.

Any suggestions on how to remove it would be helpful.

that "25" indicates that FRAPS is running at 25 Frames.  If you turn off FRAPS, it will go away.

to see your FPS, hit SHIFT+Z (or shift+z+z+z to get all the FS info - red letters in the upper left/across the top)

Do you know how to use this drawing software? I've had it on my computer for about two years. Can't get anywhere with it. I want to draw an airplane that's been knocking about in my head since 1985. Can't get away from Square One with SketchUp. I have the "for Dummies" book. Didn't help. Maybe I'm just an idiot and have no hope...

screen capture software running - FSScreen: I've tried it both on and off and it's still there.

number ever change - Yes, it also alternates between red and yellow color

3rd party programs for FS running: No

Video Card: ATI Sapphire X1950GT

No other games

Like I said, it just showed up after updating my drivers. I'm new with ATI Tray Tools so I may have clicked on something that makes the frame rate show up. I'll take another look.

ATI Tray Tools - Tools & Options - there is a box for Enabling Onscreen Display. Unclicked it and the Frame Rate disappeared.

I'm sorry, but I just set up Google Sketchup 7 just recently. I've toyed with a few buttons on some things I got from the Google 3D Warehouse, so I have a lot to learn.

It should get you up and running with Sketchup.

In ATI Tray Tools, under On Screen Display Settings/FPS Meter, make sure you have a tic mark in the Hide box.
It took me a while to find it when I first got Tray Tools.

I do some CAD work, not with Sketchup, but with others.

Here is the solution...... just apply countless hours of your valuable TIME.

Everyone seems to think this kind of software suddenly makes stuff pop onto the screen.  It doesn't.  Simple objects like a cube or a sphere are a snap.  Unfortunately the real world is composed of complex objects made up of amalgams of hundreds and hundreds of smaller components.

This is why I get so annoyed when people start bashing freeware developeers.  Most people have no idea about how long this stuff actually takes, not only to learn, but even to use once you know how.

So likely you have not yet devoted the hundreds of hours you need to become fluent with it.    When it is a job to use this stuff .... you are getting paid.  When it is a "labor of love"....... you have tro figure out how much love it actually takes.   ;)
