programme shut down

Postby RAFAIR100 » Wed Jun 23, 2010 12:02 pm

A problem has arisen with some of my downloaded aircraft.   When 'fly now' is selected, the programme shuts down. I can get the aircraft loaded by loading the default aircraft, coming out of full screen, and then selecting the aircraft of choice.     However, if full screen is now selected, the programme shuts down.       Any ideas?

Thank you for your comments.      I had just completed a Windows re-install when this problem occurred    Prior to the re-install,  I copied all my aircraft, gauges, effects. scenery, etc to a 'holding' file.     I am now in the process of re-loading from the 'holding' file.      So far. the problem has shown up with the B-47E, Bonanza, Belfast, and one or two others.       In the case of the B-47E. I did a complete re-download and re-install - same problem.        I now propose to go through the panel files to see if I can identify the fault.

I had just completed a Windows re-install when this problem occurred

I assume this means you have a new install of FS9. Could the problem be related to the FS9.1 update? Just a thought.

Thank you, Hagar.     Yes, the 9.1 update is installed.    It is on my check list immediately after the programme re-install -learned from bitter previous experience.      One thing I have discovered is that my re-install did not include the infamous gauge sound dll.      That may not be the cause but its ommission will certainly not have helped.     The investigation continues.......

Further checked.        The gauge sound dll was to blame
