Adding scenery in windows 7

[color=#000000]I know there are links around on how to do this, but they are for FSX and do not work in FS9. I finally got some to add, but only the ones with both scenery and texture folders. The ones with only scenery folders still won't add, which includes Glacier Bay.

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Ive been having problems in FSX ........ and there may be a solution although it means loads of cut n paste.

http://205.252.250.26/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaB ... 1270158885

Copy any BGLs straight into the Addon Scenery/Scenery file ...... and any textures into the Texture file.
It's worked for me.

My Glacier Bay has both scenery and texture subfolders in both the main GB entry and in the Landclass entry so I am confused by anyone saying it only has a scenery subfolder.

The installation does place both entries in the scenery.cfg file but the manual states their position may need to be adjusted manually.

For anyone who is still having issues adding scenery to Win 7, I highly recommend this illustrated thread:

http://forums.flightsim.com/vbfs/showth ... p?t=205432

A reinstall may be worth trying - but I would also recommend turning off UAC (User Account Control) prior to running the installer and to run the installer as "adminstrator".

There is no logical reason GB should not run in FS2004 under Win 7 unless it is being twarted by a permissions issue.

I just installed FS2004 on my wife's new computer which has Win 7 - 64 bit as it's Operating System.

There were no problems at all installing FS2004 and then the Glacier Bay package.

This is how I did it:

1. Turned OFF UAC (user Account Control)

2. Installed FS2004 to a completely new folder named C:\FS Games.
