Pushback question.

Well, I have noticed that when I push back and use Shift + P and either 1 or 2 the aircraft doesn't pushback far enough to the taxi line.

Is there anything that can help this?

The Push-Back function was never intended to reverse you around the Airfield!
Its purpose is to reverse you from any forward obstruction, (and rotate you if necessary), to allow you to proceed in a forward direction to your desired point, after cancelling the Push-Back.

Sam, welcome to SimV.

After you start pushback (shift+P) wait before pressing the 1 or 2. You can wait as long as necessary as long as you don't press any other keys or buttons.

After pressing the 1 or 2, the plane will continue straight back for approx. 1/2 plane length before starting the turn.

You could tryGlenn Copeland's PushBack gauge from downloads here.  Just put his name in the box.....I use it a lot.

A good rule of thumb I use when using the (Shift + P) function is when you are pushing back, wait until your main wheels or belly is over your desired point you would like to straighten out on, and thats when you it (1) or (2). It usually gives you a fair alignment.
