Wasn't that post supposed to contain only the BEST addons for FS9 ?
Some people mentionned aircrafts that don't even have a VC...exterior model is not everything  ::)

For me, Dino Cattanero's Tomcat, or Kirk Olsson F-1 are NOT must-have aircrafts. There are excellent looking, with good dynamics, but that's all. Instrumentation sucks in the VC, nothing is clickable. This is not the BEST you can get as freeware.

Let's be clear, I love those models and I fly them very often, but again, this is not the BEST ! ;)

But its all down to peoples personal opinions about what people like e.g. I don't like big passenger jets but others love them. You could argue about that all day and nobody would win since its their own opinion.

P.s. Daube, post some of your favourites  ;)

pps. Si_Combat that chinook is very good but the vc isnt very clickable (if I remember right)  :(

I don't really agree with that. the quality of an addon is not linked to the fact that you love it or not. Quality is quantifiable. For example, I absolutely love the F-1 from Kirk, but I admit it is not top quality, because some functionnalities are missing, like a clickable VC ;)

Remember, not everyone uses the VC that much, and so may not rate an aircraft on the functionality of it, or whether it has clear, concise gauges. Some aircraft can be the BEST looking aircraft, and therefore do qualify as the best aircraft in some form or another.

Best Looking does not mean best aircraft.
Just because you don't use a functionnality doesn't mean this functionnality is useless, and a addon that has this functionnality is BETTER than an addon that doesn't have it.
You are confusing GOOD and BEST. Here, we try to list the best, not the good ;)

A lot of these I'm pretty sure were mentioned, but:
Definetely the F/A-18's made by Daisuke Yamamoto as well as any other of his planes
The DSB T-45C Goshawk (A must for any flight simmer)
The Stratojet Merlin, Albatross, Excalibur, and Chronos, all by Eugene Heyart
The Tu-144 Holidayzone package
The F-5C (Cannot find who it was by)

All of these are musts for any simmer and are available here (except for Heyart's Chronos, available on AVSim)
There are so many more out there as well, here are jsut a few.

I'm sorry, just got the link from another thread, I;m kinda new here...

I neglected to mention the best ground vehicle you could ever get that I could find anywhere, and it's by Mitsuya Hamaguchi.

Forgot but there's also a great P-180 Avanti full package here with a great DVC and panel, as well as a beautiful flight model.

My favorites:
Samdim Tu-114, hands down funnest yet most realistic Cold War era airliner for FS9 (anything Samdim is good)

HJG 707s, also extroardinarily fun and realistic despite the lack of a VC

Hovercontrol Bell 412, best heliciopter built for FS9

Glacier Bay scenery found here: http://www.simviation.com/fs2004scenery102.htm funnest and most realistic scenery I have found yet.

Golden Hawaii scenery and planes by Bill and Lynn Lyons. Also very fun.

Grumman Goose package found here: http://www.simviation.com/fs2004props80.htm definitely one of the best modeled plane and effects I have found yet, also some cool flights.

Stearman Kaydet and Eagle Field package

Stearman Model 75 Duster and Sprayer, found here: http://www.simviation.com/fs2004vintage49.htm Best modeled aircraft I have ever seen, though it runs quite slow due to the high detail. The engine will even predetonate if run at full throttle for over 5 minutes.

Area 51 pack found here http://www.simviation.com/fs2004scenery93.htm The most accurate and complete scenery for the site and the related airports that I have seen.

Lionheart creations aircraft are also very fun, although not usually realistic at all. I must admit that I like the Dauntless concept though, very sleek.

Also, any if the kneeboard web browser add-ons are great, as well as a few of the music ones (I still prefer just using iTunes though).

Also Also, The new Cessna 150 (Can't find the link again, pretty sure its not here) is absolutely awesome, and doesn't kill the framerates. It has some old school navigation features that I believe should be compiled into a package for any plane.

The F-5s and F-20 packs located here: http://www.simviation.com/fs2004military72.htm Collect them all! Though they have a lack of range, navigation, and/or autopilot, they are by far the funnest jets I have flown (other than hovering an F-14, but that would count as a rocket, not a jet, right?)

Anyways, that's just a sampling of my favorite aircraft and sceneries for FS9 (I have over 300 aircraft, all of which are at least pretty good), a full list would be too long to read, let alone to spend the time writing on an old thread that will probably die again within the week. Anyways, I'm sure some of these are already on here, but they deserve reiterating anyways.

Normally I do not go to the Far East: but with the exception of HK- Thamas Wong.

However, so many mentioned BACOLD I had to have a peep! Good one, lots of activity of the human race, great stuff, I enjoy it and it will now stay put.
