What is the deal with the Nine Dragon scenery?

Postby A/SGT.Mav316 » Fri Dec 11, 2009 5:43 am

I have been going on a download rampage for the best FS9 Freeware. I have discovered some pretty awesome stuff. Then I came across "Nine Dragons" Hong Kong Kaitak Intl and Scenery file. This sucka as we know is 4 downloads long! What I didnt know is that I would be wasting my time downloading file 3 and 4 of the 2nd version. The Landclass file was defective and so was the other file that was suppose to be in the last download.

Does anyone have a link to a website that has download #3 and #4? That actually work  >:(

Man I was really peaved at all the time I waited to get that file.  :'( to only find out that it was defective and there was nothing I could do about it. What a waste of time! :-/

[edit]  Just saw that Opa posted the same thing as I did, only with the actual link.  :)

Thanks Opa![/edit]

Not sure where you got that 9Dragons, but I can assure you it is probably the best freeware scenery addon ever made for FS9.

It has been quite a LONG time since I've seen it packed up in 4 different files. It is quite possible that those versions are a little defective in some way.

Thanks for the Link Opa going to try it out later tonight when I get in from work!

Cheers 8-)

Thanks for putting me in check ShaneG, I was just venting after a long day and meant nothing personal to the developers. I know it is an awesome scenery file or I wouldnt have spent all that time trying to acquire it! But I am sure you would understand anyone getting frustrated if they got a defective download after all that time!

Ok I looked in the folder because I was anxious and saw the same two installer.DO2 files that didn't work. When I try to install it, I get a message that says that all parts of the download must be present in the same folder in order for the install to run properly.

The last time microsoft wanted me to purchase some kind of software file that was suppose to repair those 2 Installer.DO2 files. Can you explain those things to me and why they dont work properly?

Has to be something I am doing or some kind of program that is needed that is not on my computer inorder to use it.

Well it turned out to be an extraction problem. That was corrected and the scenery works fine now. Havent explored it yet but I was impressed with its rather bizarre glide scope approach to the runway between the buildings. Freaky Thinking about going payware on this one though. Aerosofts "FLY TAMPA" HONG KONG scenery looks more detailed with custom High Risers.
