Missing aircraft

Postby EVVFCX » Mon Nov 23, 2009 12:36 pm

Hi all,

yes I know this has been donebefore: I have installed into the default dc3 folder the RAE and BBMF versions, the RAE one is there but not the BBMF one... if I change the texture on any other dc3 entry to point to the texture.bbmf i get the BBMF textures OK.
In fact what I have done is copy the fltsim4 entry and just editted it to be the BBMF C-47.

Can anybody see what is wrong with my aircraft.cfg
fltsim.4 works fine but fltsim.5 does not appear, both were originally UKMIL designs but I think both were from here.

The fltsim.5 entry is copy pasted from the readme.txt file with the download, I've tried changing the atc id to dc-3

Hi Steve. You've got a double bracket on the [fltsim.5] header.

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Well spotted, Doug...;)...

....the missing [ and ] brackets are common errors when copying and pasting the the various .aircraft, etc Files....

If you don't accurately place the cursor BEHIND the first [ bracket before you copy the file, the result is as Hagar pointed out, the Sim wont recognise the pasted entry!... :'(...!

It often happens with me....I've got used to it now!.... ;D...!

Paul....a copy of myself.... ;)...!

If the two versions you have in your aircraft.cfg file are the only ones, shouldn't they be shown as [fltsim.0] and [fltsim.1]? In one of my aircraft.cfg files, I listed the first airplane as [fltsim.00], and that kept it from showing up.

The extra bracket is the cause of the problem. Trust me.

Hi everyone who replied,

Artkl :Don't worry about it showing fltsim.4 etc , there are 0 to 3 there as well which are the original dc3 entries when fs9 is installed, I just pasted the basic to show the problem because both were from UKMIL.

Incidently Doug? , I deleted all the dc3 folder and recreated it from the disk 1 .cab files, hence I'm not 100% sure that the [[ was there first time but I'll find out as I can't think of a reason why when I copied and pasted the first time why there would have been 2 ['s

I'll let you know as it didn't show up in the installation checker either, fsacc I think I used. That program shows loads of errors with Just Flight aircraft.

Been playing with flights sims for a very long time now, 1981 I started, it became more of a substitute for having to stop gliding in 1995, I've flown once since and couldn't do aerobatics.
I guess you never stop learning - thanks for the help guys, I'll post an update once my other half lets me back on the PC :)

You let your "other half" use the same PC your FS9 is on?
Could be your problem right there! ;D
Don't tell her I said that 8-)

Best.
