I think that you mean this with SRTM:
http://www.simviation.com/fsdterrainsrtm.htmFSGlobal is much bigger. It's resolution is better but you need to have the hard drive space to store it (6 dvd's compared to 2 for SRTM). SRTM can be downloaded just for the parts of the world that you most fly in, FSGlobal is well, global.

As Crash mentioned, the SRTM Mesh can be downloaded for just the areas you are interested in, which I used to do, but having to download the whole World SRTM mesh on 56k Dial-up at the time would have taken forever!...

...so I purchased FS Global for FS 2004 on DVD's which did the (same) job in a fraction of the time!....

...and I have the back-up DVD's in the event of a Computer Crash!
