Spoiler/Speed Brake Gauge?

Postby Fozzer » Thu Oct 01, 2009 6:18 am

Hello Chums!...;)..!

Can someone guide me in the direction of obtaining a "Spoiler/Speed Brake Indicator Gauge" to fit onto my 2D Panels when required?
All the usual Indicators are normally fitted to the Panels, with the exception of a Spoiler or Speed Brake deployment Indicator!

The Brake is deployed using the "/" key, but without an indicator in the cockpit it is impossible to know whether it has been deployed, or not!

It is vital to know whether the device has been activated at any time, and an indicator, of some sort, on the Panel would be very welcome indeed!

Many thanks...;)...!

I believe the default Mooney has an indicator light for the speed-brake.

The indicator Gauge is a very important thing to have!.. ;)...!

Many Thanks...

Paul.

..the Mooney one looks simple...On/Off Indicator light using the "/" key..;)...!

It worked a treat....it will be useful to fit it to the Default Learjet 45, etc, as well. (They don't have one at the moment).

I use Glenn Copeland's ARM_1!ARM_1 gauge.  Lovely red spoilers pop up when employed.....

It does work when you land & the spoilers deploy but I also use it just to see that the spoilers are out when I want them before landing.  I use manually as well as having the automatic feature.   8-)

Eugene Heyart's Otter NG and Albatross both have it. They also have a button to have it activate automatically after touchdown when brakes are applied, along with reversers. I've landed some places it would not have been possible otherwise.

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

I am always surprised that so many Sim Cockpit Panel designers omit to fit them, when it is vital to know whether the Spoiler/Airbrake/Reversers, etc, are deployed...or not!... :o...!
I've collected a various selection of them now, due to this Thread, ready to fit into my Panels, where they are missing...

...I just need a "hole gauge" now...;)... ;D...!

That particular gauge is in the "Hole for Gauges" section.  A useful gizmo to have I found on many occasions  ::)
