Newbie needs help with piloting Helicopters

Postby daveywavey » Sun Aug 30, 2009 2:47 am

Hi, I would appreciate some help/advice.  I've added a number of aircraft to FS 2004 and am having trouble controlling helicopters.  When I start flying, every machine gets in an uncontrollable spin.  No probs with fixed wing aircraft, apart from the Harrier. I use a Logitech Wingman Extreme joysick.   Thanks in advance.  I've only recently started downloading aircraft from the site and very impressed with the choice and quality!

Perhaps the best site for all things related to Choppers - including some excellent tutorials is the following site:

the easiest and simplest way to get a better feel, and control over your heli's in FS9 or X, is pick your helicopter of choice from the select craft menu, set time and date, Starting airport, Weather.... FLY NOW.

once you are in the cockpit, hit ALT > AIRCRAFT > REALISMS

on the left side of the screen, you will see 5 sliders.

I am from Hovercontrol.com and it is a very great place to go. All the members are very friendly and will try to help you with whatever you need help with. There is almost always someone on the forums.

Turn the realism settings down a little. High realism settings in heli's in MSFS are slightly too realistic (i.e too responsive to be realistic.).

Thanks Opa,
tried that, using 'heli force', with and without the author's name ...etc, with less than spectacular results

doesn't matter, I've been flyin the whirly beast since '98.

I was just curious about the effects of 'heli force'
