Nav-GPS switch problem

I am having an awful time trying to install a Nav-GPS switch to the Boeing 707 Panel from pg.6 by Mike Morin. I have tried all of the Nav_GPS switches I have that wound fit where I want to put it, but it doesn't show up on the panel when I choose the aircraft.

Wrong forum, but what the hay:

Post the entry you made on the panel.cfg, as well as the four entries right before that one.

As in:

gauge12= etc, etc.
gauge13= etc, etc.
gauge14= etc, etc
gauge15= Nav-GPS Switch entry

I assume you have entered the detains correctly in the Panel Notepad File, and Saved it, and fitted the gauge in a free space in the 2D Panel?

It should show up in the 2D panel, (but not necessarily in the VC Panel, as it is part of the designed Model).

When I add extra gauges to my Panels they only appear in the 2D panel, which is why I mostly fly with the 2D panel......!

Are you runnung Vista? If so, and S2004 is installed in the ..\Programs\ folder, then the Vista UAC may be not be saving the edit. Move the panel.cfg file to your desktop, make the edit and then move the file back.

If that isn't the problem could you post the gaugexx= line you are adding?

Not easy to spot, but in the Mike Morin 707 panel there is already a gauge89= line. Its up between 63 and 64.   :-?

I changed it to gauge90= and it still didn't appear on the panel.
I am aiming for a spot to the right of the Parking Brake.

That did it! Thanks. Now some minor adjustments to get the switch right where I want it and the right size followed by a test flight and that should do it.

im sure you are already aware of it, but the last 2 sets of numbers in the series is Height and Width of the gauge. (size)

348 pixels right, 294 down, (Size high), (Size wide)

My way: I paste the "panel.bmp" into Paintshop Pro 4 (=Free), then scroll my mouse around to the spot where I want to add the Gauge, at the same time observing the X-Y co-ordinates at the bottom of the PSP window.
When in the desired location, I make a note of the X-Y co-ordinates which I then enter into the next gauge line in the Panel.cfg notepad, and adjusting the gauge size...(and save it!).

With the Aircraft Cockpit loaded on the screen, I just toggle in and out of the Sim to observe the effect, and modify the panel.cfg file as necessary....re-loading the plane following any change to the details.

It works a treat...for me!... ...!

Or are you utilizing a little "temporal manipulation" to get the job done?

Yep...

My trusty PSP 4 is saved on Floppy Disk from a time long, long ago, when it was freely available following the various upgrades during its life...;)...!

It was (PSP 4) included on many Computer Games Magazine's CD's and Floppy Disks in the past...;)...!
