landing the 777 and A340 panels

Postby amaru » Tue Jun 16, 2009 7:11 am

Hi all,

Im a big fan of POSKY's work so I downloaded many of their 777s and A340s.

1- I can do a complete ILS landing with an airbus aircraft no problem. but everytime i try to land a 777 at touchdown the aircraft hits the ground and bumps back up to the air and eventually miss the landing. My approach is always fine and I carry out the same procedure I do for A330 and land the A330 fine but never the B777. Most of the time I have 40% fuel and I touch down at 140IAS. How can I improve my B777 landing?

2- The A340's I download from POSKY are great but come with no panel. Everytime I try to install an A340 panel I find online all I see is a blank (sometimes black) screen. Even when I tried installing to it the B747 panel that comes with the game I still cant see the front! any solutions?

many thanks

1- The two planes are entirely different. Sure they are in the same class of aircraft and all but they are too different to use the same approach procedures. come in slower and a little on the low side as to 'grease' the landing.

2- That sounds like a panel issue. What panel are you using? Are you doing it by installer or by copy and paste? Are you adding the gauges to the gauges folder?

1- thanks for ur reply. I still cant perfect my 777 landing, or even my 737 landing for the same reason

2- I install by copying and paste panels i download from websites. I dont forget to locate all the gauges folders under the FS gauges folder!

1- What area of the landing are you having problems with? Touchdown? Glide slope? Are you having trouble with ground effect?
EDIT: What is your weight and fuel load when landing?

2- What panel are you trying to install? Post a link to the panel in question.

sorry about the late reply.

1- I am having problems with the touchdown. Everything about my landing is very good until in touchdown the airplane bumps up and back to the air. I really need to know how to land 777 and 737s for the same problem!

2- the A340 panels I had were actually from avsim.com, since the website has been hacked ive never been able to access their library so I dont know where to get the file from!

Again, many thanks for your time and effor

Are you engaging the glideslope on the autopilot, or are you manually adjusting your trim and decent?

Are you letting the autopilot land the airplane?  FS does not really have an autoland function, you have to fly it manually once you get to the runway, and flare!

I find it strange that I can (in most of the small single or twin props) let the AP fly it all the way to the RWY with no problems whatsoever . . .

Just goes to show that those little "buzzers" really are better! ;) ;D :P
