iris Tornado GR4

Postby acw889 » Tue Jun 16, 2009 5:55 pm

hi

im having trouble with the iris gr4 I downloaded.

Basically the first time i use it everything seems to be fine, except that even with the wings swept out it wont do aerobatics or tight turns .. it jsut stalls! ... the second time and after  load it up in FS the wing sweep wont work manually but with the ground gear down the wings are swept out and fold away when they gear is retracted!

does anybody know what could be causing this problem or has anyone else had a similar problem or is anyone not having any problems at all?

Thanks

For what ever reason, Iris decided to make the AI model available from the aircraft selection list. First make sure you aren't flying it.

You probably need to edit the stall speed in the aircraft.cfg, I'm guessing as it is AI the speed is set to a default level.

reduced the stall speed to zero and still no love .... the problem seems to be that whenever i use elevaors they seem to jsut act as speed brakes and dramatically slow the aircrft right down to zero knots

Remember too, stall has more to do with angle of attack than it does with speed. If a wing is forced into oncoming airflow at too steep an angle, it airflow becomes too turbulamt to produce lift resulting in a stall.

Not sure how to what else to say. Have you modified the aircraft.cfg in some other way aside from what Ozzy suggested?

Try copying the aircraft.cfg and .air files from a working Tornado and see if that helps. Most of the AI models are from FS2/FS2k2 and tend to be a tad tricky in FS9. You could do worse than try an FS2k2 model in FS9 or better still enter the monthly screenshot contest and win a totally fab Tornado ;)
