Opensky 747 "Effects?"

Postby flipside » Tue Jun 16, 2009 7:51 am

According to the installation instructions for the Project Opensky 747-400 I downloaded, the contents of the "747 effects folder" are to be installed into the main effects folder. The problem is that there is no "747 effects folder." There is a folder within the panel folder named "Posky 747." Is this the effects folder to which the instructions are referring? :-?

The main effects folder is the one in your main fs9 installation this is where the Posky effects go.

I know where the effects folder is in FS9. What I want to know is if the Posky 747 folder IS the effects folder for the aircraft.

Oh apologies.
Have you opened that folder?Has it got files with an FX extension to them?
cheers Andy
Usually with Poskies the Effects folder(within the downloaded Aircraft folder  is labelled as such.
You could go back to posky have a look at some of there other 747 offerings examine the zip to see if it includes the effects folder(labelled as such)download it and use those effects. If it the same model they should be the same.

PS the Posky744 folder within the panel folder should be there and untouched(you don't extract the contents or the folder to your main gauges folder)leave alone.
There should defiantly be an effects folder in your downloaded 747 aircraft folder however. The contents of that folder (should be files with an FX extension )THESE go to your main gauges folder

Let me ask you this. Do you already have some posky planes in your collection? If so, posky uses pretty much all the same effects for most aircraft unless its something very specific. So if you already have a posky plane installed, chances are your new 747 will use those same effects.

Which 744 is this btw, and did you get it here, or from posky?

My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.
