Mike Stone's PBY - No splash, No wake

Postby JJH » Tue May 26, 2009 3:51 pm

Just downloaded this PBY (SimV Props Pg 18). The aircraft doesn't make a wake when moving on the water, and no splash when it lands on the water. Anyone know if there is a fix for this? :-?

Check the aircraft.cfg Effects section for the following two statements and add as necessary.

wake =      fx_wake
water =      fx_spray

Did the rational thing and compared the EFFECTS section of Aircraft cfg file of the PBY to that of the Grand Caravan amphib. There was a minor difference:- the "water=fx_spray" on the PBY file had "\\" preceding it, while the GCA didn't. So I deleted the \\ from the PBY file and I now have the missing water action. I will learn, sooner ot later, to check more thoroughly for possible solutions before I post questions.  :-[ :-[ :-[

Thanks. I did that first and found them in place. It wasn't until I compared it to the Caravan that I noticed the \\ preceding the water=fx_spray. So all OK now.

They both will work perfectly, until you open windows.
