I read it, and from what I gathered, you will want to be aware of how many processes are running, because that will affect your OOM problem. ;)
If it's a scenery causing it, it's more than likely not going to stop until you get rid of it, or find a way to kill enough processes in order to free up more memory for it. ;)

Since you know where it happens, and you say you have a lot of scenery there, start disabling them one at a time and flying there until you know which one causes it, and then see if there is an alternative scenery to replace it with.

I followed your instructions, to the letter, and all I got for it was having the process remove the file \system32\hal.dll which made my system unbootable. Had to reload my OS which made me lose all my installed programs. Probably won't follow your advice in the future...

The very last thing on his page is:

 WARNING!

It is possible to starve the operating system's slice of VAS to the point that your system will no longer boot!

If this happens, you must reboot the computer into "Safe Mode" (which bypasses the /3GB switch, and then edit your boot.ini (WinXP) or use bcdecit (Vista) to reduce the size of the application slice of the VAS.

Now that you have re-installed the Default Flight Sim FS 2004, (with no add-on scenery,) do you still have the same problems?

Well I for one hope that Bill will come back soon, review this thread and offer further comment.

I have known him for a long time and feel very secure in whatever he may recommend.
