VOZ Textures won't uninstall

Hello everyone,

I've had VOZ 1.8 for a while now and it has worked fine. However, a few days ago I tried to open up the VOZ switcher and it gave me an error--something like "FS9_DIR not found".

So I ran the registry fixer thing (lol) from Flight 1 and it fixed it. However, when I went to unvoz, it said that no textures were installed, when they were in fact installed and active. So I installed a random set and tried to uninstall and it did. I went to fly somewhere in the US and the VOZ textures were still there, instead of my awesome GEPro merge textures... lol.

Any idea what I can do besides a complete FS9 reinstall?

Just run the GEP gui and install a set from that.

Boy was that a scare! I thought a reinstall would be in order

Well I reinstalled VOZ which didn't do anything, then I installed the GEPro textures which fixed the textures, then ran Samoshin Natural world trees v2 for the trees and all is good now. Thanks Shane!

No problem!  I switch between the two also, for flying the hop list.

Glad you fixed your problem Andy.

I would have thought that the FS Registry Repair Program would have fixed it as you said it did as I have used it when I had that "FS9_DIR not found" error.

Well the registry fixer did find the fs9 directory for the voz switcher, but it still wouldn't allow me to uninstall the textures :-? I found that a bit weird... Also, no matter what I did, the VOZ splash screen would stay there But that's also fixed now

While on the subject of VOZ, Chums....

I have been using VOZ 1.2 (the upgrade) since 2005, for all my colourful World Textures and Koorbygen Buildings....mainly in California....for FS 2004.

I have the complete VOZ 1.2 install program saved on CD's.

As the VOZ site is now closing down*, is there any advantage to me downloading the complete VOZ 1.8 version, as I only use the program for its Textures and Buildings...not the Australia Airports and flights.

...remembering that it's 600 MB in size!... ...!

What is the difference between VOZ 1.2 and VOZ 1.8 (and saving it to CD's), as regards FS 2004?

I am still using VOZ 1.2 for all my FS 2004 Flights at the moment

FSX is far into the future!.....!

I was just wondered what the difference was, and was it worth downloading 1.8 (BIG FILE: 2-hour download on ADSL!) and installing it to replace my 1.2 version for my FS 2004... ...!

Is it merely an FS 2004 VOZ 1.2 upgrade?

1.8 isn't an upgrade. It's an entirely new version, which leads me to believe some of the textures might have changed since 1.2. They ask you to delete all the old VOZ files with good instructions to make no mistakes

I don't know if it's for FSX but I'm using it for FS9 and it works perfectly

I'll give it a try, and save the Installation File to CD...(if it will fit on a CD?), for safety, as the VOZ Site is closing down!

It's 598mb, so it should fit into a CD no problem

Paul, I noticed a difference going from 1.7 to 1.8. So you should expect to see a major difference.
