Did you know.....

Postby Groundbound1 » Sun Jan 11, 2009 7:42 pm

Ok, this is just an experiment, but what the heck. Mods, I would never feel offended or upset if you wanted to move (or REmove) this post.

I though it might be interesting to post little things you've seen in your flight sim (FS9 only please) or it's aircraft, that others may not have noticed.

For example:

Did you know...
That while flying Kirk Olsson's JDAM model F-16, if you hit the tail hook key, it's LANTIRN pod lens will rotate into position?

Sounds fun...

Did you know...
It happens very rarely at night, but if you are very lucky, you can see a shooting star (meteor) streak across the virtual night sky in FS2004. It's a built in Microsoft "easter-egg", and I've personally only witnessed it once, a few years ago.

Did you know...
There is a red and white maintenance shack (if memory serves correctly), blocking part of the runway at Telluride, Colorado, USA by default.

Did you know...
There is a landable oil rig in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Norfolk, Virginia. MS Default.

Did you know...
When parked and completely shut down, the banners on the pitot tube covers on the PT Tu-154M sway in the wind.

Knew about all but this one,

Did you know...
When parked and completely shut down, the banners on the pitot tube covers on the PT Tu-154M sway in the wind.

The Sabre from SectionF8 does that too. (Unless there is no wind

The pitch of the prop on the left engine (port?) of the DEFAULT fs9 DC-3 is modeled backwards? With the engine running, the prop would be pushing air forward, not back.

I've been flying it for years and only JUST noticed it. :-?

You are correct. I had to check it for myself. A little trick on us from the crazy bunch at Microsoft?
