16:9 in FS9

Postby ThomasKaira » Wed Mar 18, 2009 3:09 am

Can it be done?

A stretched 4:3 makes everything look terrible, so my aspect ratio is set to 4:3 for now. I'm wondering if it is possible to play FS in REAL 16:9 widescreen, however, as the two black bars on the sides of the screen are a little annoying.

yeah its possible. i can play 16:10 (1920x1200) but 16:9 is possible too. you just need to custom set it in the FS9.cfg

Adjust your resolution to match the native resolution your using for windows, assuming your using a widescreen (16:9)with settings of let's say 1680x1050 then make sure you choose the same setting within the game, you will get better performance and no stretch marks  ;D

I agree - set to native resolution and the only thing that 'suffers' in terms of not appearing in true widescreen is the 2D panel view which is stretched.

Although I have to say that I prefer the stretched 2D panel - looks more 'roomy'. The slight ovalling of the gauges doesn't bother me.
