Flickering Autogen

Postby ronwalker » Fri Mar 13, 2009 9:05 pm

This is probably a previously well talked about topic but as I'm new to this....... Is there any way to stop the awful flicker and texture 'rolling' on the AUTOGEN building textures. I managed to stop the flickering on the ground scenery which now looks pretty good. One thing I have noticed is that other aircraft in the sim such as AI a/c display properly but buildings don't - why? Do the texture types differ or is it a matter of the more complex shapes aid the render process?. As the nightime textures on autogen buildings look especially bad has anyone brought out a set of replacements without all the attendant lights that flicker, or would blurring the autogen tex help them display better by removing the pixel 'edge's'. Finally - where are the autogen textures kept in FS9?

It might help if we knew where to find this.

Never mind, found it. :-[

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

what are your computer specifications? there might be something as simple as the Anti-alias of your video card needs to be turned on/off, or your computer might not have enough memory, or needs a newer/better video card.

Autogen is found in a folder called "AUTOGEN" inside your FS9 main folder, up around your AIRCRAFT folder.  It is an .XML File.
