Aircraft Textures not showing up in Selection Menu

Gday Guys,

I currently have a problem in my FS9. I recently brought the C182Q for FS2004 and also the PMDG 736-739 Series. I downloaded a VH-FIB texture for the Cessna as i wanted a Australian Rego Cessna and a Air Berlin texture for the 738. I installed as instructed yet when i go to my aircraft selection menu the textures are not there. Only the default PMDG and C182 ones are. Anyone know why this is?

Hi James. Have you added new textures before?

If the new variations are not listed on the selection menu you obviously didn't edit Aircraft.cfg properly. It's very easy to make a silly mistake. If they're listed but the textures don't display then you either didn't install them correctly or they're not for the version of the aircraft you have.

Make sure you read any instructions with the repaints carefully. I can't check this out for you as I haven't got the aircraft. Always take backup copy of Aircraft.cfg before editing it.

Yes, i have a Virgin Blue texture which i installed just before i installed the Air Berlin Texture for the PMDG which works fine.

I obviously can't try them on the aircraft but if you tell me exactly where to get the textures I can download them & check them out. Also copy the first part of your edited Aircraft.cfg for one of them & paste it here. I only need to see the [fltsim.x] entries including your new one.

I don't have the cessna, but I do have the PMDG. If you post the link to the textures, I will check it out on that end and see what happens. I've got a few dozen textures installed for them already, don't see how a few more could hurt.

Just go over to the PMDG website repaints section and get the B738 Winglets texture Air Berlin and tell me how you go.

I'll leave the PMDG to Shane. One obvious difference in the Cessna. It will be listed under Cessna as Manufacturer & not Carenado like the other variations.

Not sure why, but I can't get any of the auto installers to complete their function.  I get an error about the airstairs.bmp and then it closes.

I am directing the installer to a temp folder, as I don't want/trust auto-installers putting stuff into my FS9 without me knowing exactly what it did, so that may be my problem.

However....

 I did go elsewhere and found a few dozen repaints for the two airlines you've obtained, and had no problems at all unzipping, installing, and running the new textures.

So I am going to say the problem is on PMDG's end of things.
