Flying your own airshow!

Postby jonny typhoon » Sun Mar 08, 2009 12:46 pm

Hi

Incase some beginners don't know this, you can record your flight by pressing ALT and clicking (simul) the top left part of screen.Choose 1/4 second, then click on ''record flight''. Once finished, type your flight name of your choice, then play it back.

I aerobat around an airport (usually fairford),using various stunts and set pieces i've seen at various airshows (RIAT my fave) and watch it back with this function (on spot mode, which clings to the airport vicinity). It's real cool.I've gotten quite good at it lol, nice way of learning and very enjoyable.

Wish there was a program out that offered competition planes, point scoring for display etc. That would be real cool.

Drawback: the replay is a little jerky, but not too bad....not as smooth as the spot whenyour flying. Also, the afterburner and smoke effects are not recorded.

Wondered.I am purchasing FSX soon.Is the playback smoother? And does it record said effects?

My fave display planes are thunderbird F16,Typhoon,F18.Love doing the hi alpha-not easy to get correct.

Cheers 8-)

Check this out:

http://www.fs-recorder.net/

It is a much better recorder than the default and will even record AI traffic too.

Thats great,much better.
Shame about the limitations. ... cant fly my add on fast jets with the default boeing etc.  The aermachhi flys with the boeing-which is an add on,yet the f16 etc wont, add on also. wierd.
Also, two different add ons on the playback traffic reset to one.Hmmm.
Any way around this? Any patches?

Cheers

Hi

This has nothing to do with FS, but it is still a very very well done video of a aerobatic team using IL-2. It is worth a look.
